Education News

There is a desperate need for volunteers to teach the children's Sunday School classes. The curriculum is very easy to follow and all materials are provided. Please consider helping the youth of our church family to learn about Christ. If interested, please contact Elie Krassow.

West Ohio Conference Scholarship Programs
Based on available funds, the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church supervises three scholarship opportunities for undergraduates attending United Methodist institutions of higher learning. Please see Rev. McDaniel for additional information.

“The Power of Myth” study is a DVD led study where we will watch segments of the acclaimed PBS series called “The Power of Myth, which is an interview and discussion between Bill Moyers and Joseph Campbell (who was a leading expert in Mythology). The study will explore what myth is and why it is important for our lives – why should we care about myths?  What do they have to do with my life?  Let’s explore this together. This study will begin Monday, September 28, 2009, 7:30-9:00 p.m.

“The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity” is a conversation really around the No. 1 seller by William Paul Young.  It’s the story of a man named Mack and the harrowing journey he has to face both inside himself and to “the shack” deep in the Oregon wilderness. I hope you will come be a part of the conversation. This study will begin October 1, 2009, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
