| The Mail Pouch Fly-By happens at Marietta, Ohio, in the latter part of August. The weather was absolutely perfect this year. There were 145 participants, the roads were great, and we flew by plenty of Mail Pouch barns. For more information on Mail Pouch barns see Chasing Mail Pouch Barns or Ohio Mail Pouch Barns. | |||

It's Saturday morning. Let's go ride! |
Here's a nice Mail Pouch covered bridge. |
After 300 miles of West Virginia twisties, our group – Norm, Tim, Don, and Vic – reached the Sisterville Ferry, where we would cross back into Ohio.
Waiting for the ferry under a shade tree. The ferry is circled in red, over on the Ohio side of the Ohio River.
Now we – Tim, Norm, Don, and Vic (me) – are most of the way across the river. |
We flew by this Mail Pouch barn just a little way up Ohio 800 from its termination at the Sisterville Ferry. |
Back at the motel, someone must have rung the dinner bell.
Jon Campbell, Fly-By organizer, is exhausted after cooking thousands of hamburgers. That's Bill Thalgott in the background, sympathizing with Jon. |
This Mail Pouch barn is on Ohio 26, a few miles from Marietta. |
Woovis was master of ceremonies for the after-dinner prize party.
And President Brick had his say as well. |
But most Mail Pouch barns are just rotting away, a disappearing part of history. |
