Eastern Trip 2006 – Scot

This is the end of my eastern trip: Scot Dykema crossing Palmerston Lake.

Scot and I go way back. Here we are at our graduation from Riverside School in 1949. From left to right: John Sinclair, Thane Norton (I go by Vic now), Scot Dykema, Craig Fanning, Kent Bloomer.

To get to Scot’s place you start at this general store. It’s right on route 509 at the southern-most end of Palmerston Lake in Ompah, Ontario. Just call Scot from here. He’ll pick you up at the marina behind the store.

This is the house (or cabin) that Scot built. It's about two miles up the lake from the marina. The original cabin, which Scot’s father built in the 1930s, is a few yards further up the lake.

Looking out at Palmerston Lake from Scot’s house.
