[Costa Rican Adventure]
Here are some pictures from our one week dual sport adventure in Costa Rica.

You can read more about the whole adventure in Tom Sullivan's account.

Where is the best place to start. A bar, right? OK, this is it. The bar at the Best Western - Irazu. We all met here. Free drinks from 5-6 PM.   The Memphis gang: Mike, Amy, Tim, Larue, Tripp, and Tom. But get me straight — they didn't all sleep in the same room!
Where the adventure really starts. The office of MotoAdventures.   Now we are riding. Whoops! Well, we were riding.
Which way now?   Our first night's destination, the Volcan Turrialba Lodge. That's Larry Larrabure, our peerless leader, with the bikes.
Pictures of Volcano Turrialba, in the afternoon and at sunset. That's Vic and Amy in the foreground.   The start of the route up to Volcano Turriabla. On Larry's advice, Vic waited right here. Not everyone else made it to the top.
Now and then we had a bit of trouble. Vic is trying to figure out how Larry got this far with no rear wheel.   Costa Rica is extremely mountainous. The countryside is gorgeous. These three scenes will give you a idea of what it is like.
We've made it to Jacó Beach, on the Pacific Ocean. Larue, Tim, Tripp, and Mike would be riding on the surf — but they forgot to bring their boards.   On our rest day at Jacó Beach, we decided to swing through the jungle. Tripp demonstrates the proper form.
Marco drove the support van and kept the bikes in good repair.   Now we are back in San José, at MotoAdventures headquarters again. It has been a fascinating week.

These pictures are from a MotoAdventures tour which we took over the week of 13-20 February 2000. For more information check out the website and/or contact Larry Larrabure, guide and (former?) owner.
