IMPORTANT BGHS BAND NEWS |
Your Immediate Attention is Needed
The uniform for tomorrow’s Memorial Day Parades has changed. Your son or daughter
needs to wear their summer uniform for the activities on Monday. This consists of
the red band shirt, white (not off-white or stone colored) shorts, white socks
(not footies), white band shoes and optional sunglasses. This change has been made
by Mr. Headley, as of this evening, due to the forecast of high temperatures and
humidity for Memorial Day.
In addition, please consider the health of your band member tomorrow. Remember,
breakfast before they go and a low salt lunch between the parades. There will be
water available. In case of a medical issue, please let one of the directors know.

We Really Need Your Help
Do you want to flex your muscles for the Bobcat Band? The Band Banquet
committee is looking for anyone with extra energy to help setup the banquet
starting at 2:30pm on May 25th. If you are willing to workout by
moving chairs, tables and helping to decorate, please contact Denise Kisabeth to
let her know that you would be willing to join the team. Her email address is:

419-354-0804. It is a wonderful workout for a great group of
students.
Sousa Concert This Sunday Evening
The Bowling Green High School Freshman, Concert and Sousa bands will be
performing in this year’s Sousa Concert, this Sunday, May 21st, at
BGSU’s Kobacher Hall. The concert will start at 7:00pm and will feature a
variety of compositions that the students will perform. A small admission charge
will be collected at the door. This will be the last opportunity to see this
year’s bands in sit-down concert arrangement, and it would be a wonderful chance
to congratulate our band Seniors on a job well done. Please plan on attending
this evening of music.
Band Banquet is Just Around the Corner
Are you ready to wrap up another year of the Bowling Green High School Bobcat
Band? As this school year draws to a close, the Band family would like to
recognize our graduating Seniors and the rest of the Band members with a banquet
in their honor. It will be held May 25th in the large High School
gymnasium, at 6:00pm. Please refer to the mailing sent out to each of the band
families for more information. The students have worked extremely hard this year
and this is their time to be recognized for their accomplishments. So please
plan on joining in on the fun.

Your Help is Needed
There will be a hands-on, making decorations, meeting for the Band Banquet
this coming Thursday, May 4th at 7pm. The meeting is at St. Mark's
Lutheran Church in the library. We are putting together gift items and
decorations for the band banquet. The more people who can come, the
quicker we can get it accomplished! Please bring glue sticks and scissors.
Also, please reserve Thursday afternoon, May 25th from 2:15pm - 5pm to
help set-up for the band banquet. We need many volunteers to change the
gym into a banquet hall in a couple of hours. Please email Denise
Kisabeth at dkisabeth@wbgu.bgsu.edu if you can come.

The Bobcat Band newsletter (Band Notes) is no longer being published
in hardcopy format and sent regular mail. The newsletter will, however,
continue to be published on the web site and sent out via email. To
receive an email copy of the newsletter it is important that we have
