Electrical Adapters - Updated
The following correction has been posted to February Issue of the Moor News.
The corrected issue is marked as volume 9, issue 2. The changes clarify the need and
use of electrical adapters and power converters.
Because the British electrical system is different than ours (110 volts instead of 220), if
travelers plan to use any kind of electrical device, they will need to have a UK converter
& adapter. (The converter changes the voltage; the adapter changes the prongs to fit
into their type of outlets.) Each hotel room has a hair dryer so please don’t send
hair dryers with your child. Not all converters work properly and may damage the
appliance, so the best option is to live without other electrical appliances. If your
traveler needs another appliance, try to send one that has a switch that allows it to go from
110 to 220 volts, thus eliminating the need for a converter. But, please realize that
all appliances will require the adapter.
