Forms & fees are due by Thursday, August 26, 2004 to the Band Room, attention Mrs. Smith.

Mrs. Smith's Contact Information

The correct email and office phone for Mrs. Smith (as of Tuesday, August 17) are listed below. Unfortunately, any voicemails received before 8/17/04 were lost when the system administrator changed the name. If you have left a recent phone message for Mrs. Smith, and did not receive a return call, please try again now.

Band Store

The Band Store is up and running. The store is there to help students get the small accessories needed for rehearsals and performances. We have refined some policies as listed below:

  • Returning students who left debts from 2003-2004 must pay those during band camp. The list is posted in the band room.
  • Students will be allowed to charge one day at a time -- that is any merchandise charge on one day must be paid before other items can be charged on subsequent days. Students who already have charged this year (including during the Wood County Fair practices) are listed at the Band Store -- they may charge again, once the current debts are paid.
  • Students must clear their accounts at the end of each nine-weeks grading period, or their grade cards will be held in the main office.

Passports

All travelers into the United Kingdom/Scotland must have a valid passport. To simplify securing a passport, there will be an opportunity on Thursday, August 19 from 5:30-7:00pm to complete the application process in the easiest way possible. This will be the only organized passport application session. If you are unable to attend you will need to make your own arrangements.

More information about the passport application process is available on the Band web site (home.dacor.net/bghsband/), but here are some additional helpful tips:

  • You must present a CERTIFIED copy of a birth certificate—a regular photocopy won’t work. Certified copies of birth certificates, if born in Wood County, can be obtained at the Health Department on E. Gypsy Lane Road.
  • The cutoff for 2 parents or 1 parent being present when applying for a Passport is age 14. Above 14, one parent; 13 and under, two parents.
  • Social Security # is needed; not necessarily the Social Security CARD itself.
  • The parental permission letter needed for students who will be under age 16 on March 25, 2005 must be signed by both parents, if both are living. Two photocopies are needed of this in addition to the Passport copies.

Car Raffle Tickets

We are still way behind on ticket sales for the Car Raffle. So come one, come all, to the Deutschman's this week during regular scheduled hours of Wed. 6:30-7:30pm and Sat. 10:00-11:00am, and BUY, BUY, BUY!

Bobcat Band Handbook

The 2004-2005 Bobcat Band Handbook is available on-line. Hardcopies will be made available upon request only.
