Moor Memories DVD
We are close enough in total orders, that I will be taking WBGU-PBS' dvcam
along to capture moments of the BGHS Band's trip to Scotland on videotape!
I want to be sure that trip goers know that we want to use some of their
video footage and digital photos in this DVD as well. I can't be
everywhere at once, and I am not a professional videographer by trade, so
I want to reinforce what I said at the March 6th trip meeting -- Moor
Memories will be a compilation of video highlights and photographs taken
by a number of people on this trip to Scotland! Space limitations will
preclude us from using all the videotape and photographs submitted, but we
will need your contributions to capture your memories of the trip!
There are a couple of guidelines that will make the editing process that
much easier once we return home. First, is important to note the date and
location information for videotape and digital photographs. Videographers
should slate everything audibly at the start of each taping by saying,
e.g., "here we are at the Stirling Castle..." but please don't talk over
footage you are submitting for the DVD. The audible slate is for
cataloging purposes only. The video footage will more likely to be used
with natural sound, rather than with "play-by-play" commentary. Be sure
to label tapes/photos with the location and date they were taken. These
guidelines will allow the editors to group like footage/photographs
together. Second, be sure to gather any interesting information about the
locations you visit; brochures and handouts may provide interesting
factoids we can add to the DVD as well.
We will look to collect your videotape and photographs once we return
home. High resolution digital photographs can be burned onto a CD for our
use after we're back.
I would like to know how many people might be taking a video camera with
them to Scotland, so please let me know by email at dboyce@wbgu.bgsu.edu
or leave a message for me at WBGU-PBS at (419) 372-7023.
Thanks so much!

What's for Dinner?
Want an advanced look at what will be served for dinner in the hotel? Here are the
menus for dinner meals at the Hilton Grosvenor,
and the Final Evening Meal at Prestonfield House.
Easter Sunday Services
Given that we have a window of free time from breakfast to midday on Easter Sunday,
travelers will have an excellent opportunity to attend a service while in Edinburgh.
There are numerous churches of all denominations with-in walking distance of our hotel
and the City Centre. The most famous is St. Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile. An
extensive listing (with a map) can be found at the following web site:
www.edinburghchurches.org.uk/churches.htm
The concierge at the hotel will also be able to help. It is advisable to make
contact before turning up for worship in order to check service times, especially
if planning to arrive as a group.
