Yearbook Photos
While most of the marching band members had their pictures taken in the fall, others
were unable to make it. Any students who did not have their picture taken by Life Touch
and would like their picture to appear in the band yearbook may submit a picture to Judy
Gardner. Unfortunately, pictures taken by a professional photographer or studio other
than Life Touch cannot be used. Photos taken by family and friends, however, can be
accepted. We also need other pictures of band events, personnel and members. (Digital
photos don't work well for this purpose.)
Please submit all pictures to Judy Gardner at 521 W. Poe Road. If you have any questions
please call Judy at 353-1102. Information for ordering band yearbooks will be available
in future newsletters.
Nominations
The nominating committee is looking for representatives of the Class of 2006 to join the
Executive Band Board. Four couples are needed. This is a three year commitment.
If you are a parent of a freshman band member and are interested in joining the Executive
Board, contact Mike Coomes at 353-1102 or any Executive Band Board member.
Cookie Dough Sale
The cookie dough sale is over and we fell a little short of our goal of $2500.00. Because
we have to order full cases, there will be extra items available. So, if you forgot to
order a tub or two, please contact Mike Leetsma at 419-352-8124.
If you sold for this fund raiser you will be getting a reminder that you need to have
someone pick up your order at the factory warehouse on Bellard Drive off West Newton on
April 16 between 3 and 6 PM.
Thanks to everyone for their efforts!!

Band Banquet
The Annual End of the Year Band Celebration Banquet will be held Thursday, May 22, 2003
at 6:00pm in the big gym for students and parents.
Mark your calendars today! More information will be available in the April newsletter.
OMEA State Finals
Congratulations to the Freshman and Symphonic Bands for receiving I’s (ones) at the OMEA
District Contest and moving up to the State Finals to be held at the Lima Shawnee High
School. The competition is set for May 2-3, but the actual date and times assigned to
our bands will not be known until later next month.
Plan to be there and show your support our bands at the OMEA State Finals!!
Kroger and Meijer Gift Certificates
For those of you who shop at either Kroger or Meijer on a regular basis, why not do it
with a gift certificate? This helps out the band and doesn’t cost you anything extra.
Here’s how it works: You purchase one or more gift certificates for $25 each, and use
them at any Kroger or Meijer store just like regular money. You’re not out anything
and the band earns 5% off of each certificate sold. Everybody wins!
Certificates are available at the Deutschman residence, 911 N. Wintergarden Rd, at the
following schedule:
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 pm
Saturdays, 10:00-11:00 am
This is an easy fundraiser. All it takes is a little advance planning to buy certificates
before you shop. So start now and get a supply on hand.
